So today was actually the first day of Spring Break for Rachel since she only goes to school every other Friday and this week was her Friday off. She is happy about getting a week off school but has mentioned more than once that everyone from her class is going to Disneyland for Spring Break except her. In fact, she is pretty sure that everyone she knows has been to Disneyland before... except for her. Oh my, the injustice of it all! :) Actually, I am dying to take her to Disney! We've been waiting for her to get just a bit older, but at the same time, I want to go pretty soon because right now I think it really will be very magical to her.
Anyway, she loved getting to sleep in this morning and then spent some time playing with Jump Start and Math Blaster on the computer. Then we pulled out some craft supplies and spent quite a bit of time just playing. She worked a lot in her journal, which I love! She is now on her second journal this year. She likes to write about her days, draw pictures, glue in found treasures, etc. While she worked in her journal, I started making a mini recipe album. It is a cute album... very retro and includes clip art from old 1950's-ish Ladies Home Journals. I don't know that I'll ever actually use the album, though I'll probably display it in the kitchen when I finish. It's not finished yet, but I posted a couple of pics of it so far below. It looks more yellow than it really is because it was raining all day today and I just didn't have great light for the picture. Anyway, when it is done, I'll post a picture of the finished project. Oh, and I can't take credit for the idea... it is from a kit from Scrapscription. This is my first kit from them and I'm so impressed with it! I haven't done any kind of paper craft in a long time, but I'm having so much fun with this one.
I also have chosen a few Easter projects to do with Rachel. We're going to do Bunny Brownies in a jar as gifts for her teachers at school. Click HERE to see the cute jars! And then we're going to make THIS wreath and these cute little egg animals.

You have some fun and cute activities planned and I may have to borrow your ideas and use them with Maisie. I'll also have to check out that Math website as Maisie loves educational sites online, it's all fun and games for her. I love the cookbook, so adorable and creative, it would also look cute framed. Have a fun week with your girl and hope you feel well.
LOL! You tell Rachel that not ALL her friends are going to Disneyland over spring break, and that not all her friends have been there. Ryan and Logan aren't going this vacation, and because they have the meanest parents in the world, they don't even get to go until they are at LEAST 8 years old. Not for 2 more years, minimum...
Enjoy your vacation. The projects look awesome. We're going to do fun things here like the dentist. I think I'd rather be at your place. :)
Goodness, you have some cute projects planned with Rachel. I'm impressed! In fact, now I feel like a dead-beat mom; I have nothing planned (aside from our play date). I hope you take pictures. I can't wait to see how everything turns out.
