So, Spring Break hasn't gone exactly as we had planned. We started off with lots of rain and cold weather. Then Monday, Rachel complained of not feeling her best. By Tuesday? Well, here is how Rachel spent most of the day on Tuesday:

She had a sore throat, headache and fever by noon. By 6:30 she was literally moaning from pain from her headache, so I put her in the car and headed for the walk-in clinic. On the way to the clinic, she started throwing up repeatedly. Poor baby! I decided to go the ER instead and called Greg to bring her some clean pajamas. We quickly lost count of how many times she threw up. Even after 3 doses of an anti-nausea medication, she literally couldn't move without getting sick again. At one point she seemed better and they said we could go home, but as soon as she stood up, the vomiting started again. At that point, she got an IV for fluids and they started the process to admit her. Thankfully, though, she started improving quickly with the IV medication and fluid and we got to come home in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
When we got home, she and Greg went right to bed, but I stayed up and put poor Baby Dog through the washer and dryer (because of course she was holding him when she got sick in the car). I also wanted to keep an eye on her and be sure she was okay. I finally crawled into bed around 6:30 a.m. and slept until Greg left for work around 9:30.
Rachel and I spent Wednesday just hanging out at home. Fortunately, Rachel was feeling much better! Unfortunately, we had to cancel a play date with Colleen and Linlee because we didn't want to share Rachel's virus with the Young family.

When Greg got home from work on Thursday, we decided to take Rachel to Chuck E. Cheese since she was feeling better. She didn't really want to eat much pizza, but she had a great time playing games and even agreed to have a picture taken with the big mouse for the first time ever. She was still a bit nervous, though! Here she is in the car when we arrived at C. E. Cheese. Can you tell she is happy? :)

Today was a beautiful day with lots of warm sunshine, so we headed out to The Berry Farm in the middle of Skagit Valley. This is the time of year that I love living in Skagit Valley! The tulips and daffodils are beginning to bloom and there are so many great little produce farms to visit. Just being there made me feel so completely relaxed and like we were on a mini vacation. After we left the farm, we went to a local lake and just walked around for a little while. It was such a great day! Below are a few pics from our day. I didn't have my good camera with me, so we used Greg's cell phone.

The tulips aren't all up yet in the fields, but the daffodils were gorgeous!

So our week started off rough, but thankfully, the last couple of days have been wonderful. And now it is already the weekend and I'm so sad that I'll be packing her off to school again next week. How many more weeks until summer???

Your Friday pictures are lovely. Did Greg have Friday off? What a nice family outing! Glad you had a much better Thursday and Friday. Too bad about our play date, though. That was disappointing. Oh well, I'm sure there are plenty more in our future. Very happy that Rachel is feeling better.
Sorry that your week had such a rough start and that must have been so scary with Rachel being so very sick, glad that she improved so quickly. The daffodil field is gorgeous, I remember years ago when you posted when the tulips were up, so pretty. LOVE the sweater that Rachel is wearing, is that recent and what is the brand...I'm thinking that Maisie would look cute in one like that ;-)
Hope you're having a good weekend.
